Local Outreach

Westchester impacts the local community in a variety of ways.  We have been designated a COMMUNITY PARTNER by the Des Moines Public School District as we serve Meredith Junior High School and Hoover High School teachers and students.  During the school year we open our doors on Friday mornings and serve pancakes, bacon, and apple juice to the students that show up.  Most mornings we see 150-300 students.  For the past few years we have a summer program to raise funds and purchase backpacks and school supplies for students who cannot afford to purchase these items.  We also provide classroom supplies for the teachers.

We partner with Youth For Christ as a weekly after school location.

We host Parenteens events throughout the year.

We also financially support six local organizations spanning church planting, youth, internationals, life-pregnancy support, church chaplaincy, and the imprisoned.

We extend God's love through work projects in the community that members and attenders of Westchester can participate in.

Global Outreach

Our Global Outreach spans North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia, and Africa addressing a variety of needs including theological education, evangelism, discipleship, health, leadership, compassion, church planting, pastoral support and mentoring, translation, and orphanages from rural villages to large cities, one-room schools to university campuses, mobile clinics to established medical care facilities, and through sporting venues.  We financially support about 30 families through either EFCA Global Outreach and other non-EFCA organizations, some of whom grew up attending Westchester.  We have an on-going short-term global ambassador program where we regularly provide opportunities to be involved first-hand around the world including Brussels, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Africa, and Asia to name but a few.
